WHRO Next Gen Collective Board
WHRO Next Gen Collective Board
The WHRO Next Gen Collective is a dynamic group of young professionals and creative leaders, ages 20–40, who serve as ambassadors between WHRO Public Media and the next generation of listeners, viewers, and storytellers.
Rooted in community, creativity, and civic engagement, the Collective helps bridge generational and cultural gaps by shaping programming, events, and storytelling that reflect the voices, values, and lived experiences of today’s emerging audiences. Members represent a wide range of industries, including media, education, arts and culture, nonprofit leadership, business, and government, and they bring fresh perspectives to how public media shows up in real life.
Through hands-on involvement in WHRO initiatives such as live storytelling events, community forums, cultural programming, and digital engagement, the Next Gen Collective:
- Amplifies local voices and stories
- Connects WHRO with younger and more diverse communities
- Advocates for the role of public media in a healthy democracy
- Helps translate WHRO’s mission into meaningful, accessible experiences for younger generations.
The WHRO Next Gen Collective is not about “emerging” — it’s about leading now. These members are the station’s eyes, ears, and creative partners in the community, helping ensure WHRO remains relevant, trusted, and deeply connected for generations to come.
