Virginia Beach amphitheater catches on fire, sustains damage

Veterans Home Loans United Amphitheater in Virginia Beach sustained heavy damage in a fire early Friday morning, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department

A fire department spokesperson said Crews first arrived at the scene, located in the 3500 block of Cellar Door Way around 1:30 a.m.

The crews reported heavy fire in the back near the production wing of the complex.

The spokesperson said the fire was under control around 2:50 a.m. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
