History and Social Science Content Developers
WHRO and the VDOE are partnering on a project that will provide second-grade teachers with brief educational videos to support the 2023 History and Social Science Standards of Learning. Our goal is to create 30 short videos along with supplemental materials focused on the contributions of historical figures covered in the Grade Two 2023 HSS Standards of Learning. We are currently selecting Virginia-licensed elementary educators and division leaders who are familiar with the 2023 History and Social Science Standards of Learning and have experience in curriculum development to serve as content script reviewers and writers for the development of the instructional materials. The work will take place November 2025- June 2026. Selected individuals will be hired as independent contractors and paid by WHRO for work outside school division contract hours. Each individual will work on approximately six videos and supplemental materials.
