The Barry Art Museum at Old Dominion University is hosting "Bubble Fest" Friday and Saturday for its fifth annual public arts festival.

The event creates a block party atmosphere using immersive art projects and this year's features the blend of art and architecture, "art-chitecture," by Australia-based studio Atelier Sisu.

It is an immersive, light and sound environment that represents the idea of ephemerality and transience with larger-than-life bubbles. The project was conceptualized during the COVID-19 pandemic by Atelier Sisu's award-winning artists Renzo B. Larriviere and Zara Pasfield.

This festival takes place on 43rd Street between Hampton Boulevard and Monarch Way. It will include a gaming area called "Bubblecade," food trucks, a glassblowing area set up by the Chrysler Museum of Art and more.
