Noah Kahan went viral with the success of his third album in 2022. He has now followed it up with “Across The Divide,” a generous 17 track collection that proves he is a generational storyteller documenting the messy reality of outgrowing the places that made you.
The title track is the centerpiece of the album exploring themes of distance, misunderstanding and the emotional cost of success. He leans into his “sad bug summer” vibe with folk driven rock songs heavy on emotional and personal themes.
The album shows a significant maturation since his first album back in 2019. His type of confessional compositions will draw strong comparisons to Bon Iver whose producer, Aaron Dessner is responsible for shaping much of this record.
With songs about traveling, substance abuse and even dead bugs, Noah Kahan is soulful and full of stories where he is bearing it all. The Vermont native now has a legion of fans eagerly awaiting his diary-like entries and with "Across the Divide" they won’t be disappointed.
