Check out late night Americana this week with the wonderful 2016 release from Sierra Hull. Weighted Mind earned a grammy nod and the artist was backed by a powerhouse of established artists, including Alison Krauss, Abigail Washburn, and Rhiannon Giddens. The release was produced by Bluegrass great Bela Fleck. Also, new music from the band Newfound Road. The Band formed in 2001 just as there was a resurgent interest in Bluegrass music as a result of the popularity of O Brother where Art Thou. The band began recording on Rounder Records in 2006 and disbanded in 2019. They have a new single out entitled " Need to get Some Highway In." Also, music from the duo Cliff Waldron and Bill Emerson, who recorded together in the 60s and early 70s. They were a major part of the thriving Northern, Virginia and Washington DC. Bluegrass scene.
