Out of the Box Album of the Week—Langhorne Slim—The Dreamin' Kind

Langhorne Slim is a folk-rock troubadour who has been recording for over 20 years but on his latest album, “The Dreamin’ Kind" he takes a slight detour to channel his love of rock and roll with a more garage rock sound.

Part of the change in his sound is due to working with Greta Van Fleet’s
Sam Kiszka and Danny Wagner. They provide the backbone to the same kind of stellar songwriting Slim is known for.

Slim says, “I don’t have much opportunity to plug in and rock out, I wanted to explore those influences, raw songs that make you feel something: that’s the stuff I’m after.”

Langhorn Slim’s new album “The Dreamin Kind” has rockers influenced by Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Iggy & the Stooges and The Strokes, but he doesn’t blow everything up, there are songs that recall his folk, blues and country roots too. All the lyrics are focused on living life with its ups and downs while enjoying the in-betweens
