Buddy Guy “Ain’t Done with the Blues” yet. On his 89th birthday he released an album of classic riffs, storytelling, and heavyweight collaborations that bring his fiery guitar playing and convincing vocals to the forefront.
Guys says “This album is about where I’ve been, it’s about where I’m going, and the people I learned everything from, Muddy, Wolf, Walter, Sonny Boy, BB… they told me to keep the blues alive. I’m trying to keep that promise.”
He’s joined on guitar by some powerful performances from Christone Kingfish Ingram, Joe Bonamassa,, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton and the Blind Boys of Alabama. At times it’s like an all star blues summit on new originals as well as revisiting some old standards.
Guy has recently retired from touring although is keeping a high profile, recently being featured in the film “Sinners.” This album forges ahead to keep the blues, not only alive but thriving.
