Out of the Box Album of the Week--Goose--Everything Must Go

Goose has built their following from the ground up on the jam band circuit and since their last album in 2022 has seen their popularity grow exponentially. Their new album “Everything Must Go” will only ramp up their momentum.

The new album embraces their jam band roots with many of the songs already known to their legion of fans from recent concert performances. Having replaced their original drummer with Cotter Ellis, the rest of the band Rick Mitarontonda, Peter Anspach and Trevor Weeks haven’t missed a beat.

With the addition of a three piece horn section, some of the newer songs sound like they are built for being extrapolated on in concert going from dark and brooding to a frenzied, pulsating pinnacle.

Jam bands are notorious for not living up to their live reputations when they record in the studio but Goose straddles the line between what is expected of them and breaking new ground on “Everything Must Go.” They are balanced on the precipice of a major break-though and this set of songs could get them there.
