Join Raymond Jones, this Saturday at 8 p.m., for another edition of “This Just In.” As we mark three years since the start of the war in Ukraine, Raymond Jones brings you an album recently released by Capella Records: “Ukrainian War Requiem” by Benedict Sheehan, performed by the Axios Men’s Ensemble and singers from Pro Coro Canada. This deeply moving work pays tribute to the resilience of the Ukrainian people through music.

Another highlight of the evening will be Raymond Jones’ conversation with pianist and musicologist Samantha Ege, who presents her new album featuring piano concertos by Julia Perry and Doreen Carwithen. This release not only offers an exceptional performance but also reminds us of the importance of celebrating Women’s History Month.

From Toccata Classics, we’ll explore the second volume of “Richard Flury: Chamber Music,” featuring his String Quartet No. 3. This work by the Swiss composer comes to life through the exquisite interpretation of the Colla Parte Quartet.

And from Grand Piano, another tribute to women in classical music with Spanish pianist Isabel Dobarro, who delivers a captivating performance of “Gustave Le Gray” by Caroline Shaw, a piano piece inspired by the renowned 19th-century photographer.

Join WHRO-FM 90.3, or listen online, this Saturday for all these exciting new releases, brought to you by Raymond Jones on “This Just In.”
