The Best of Pickin kicks off your weekend with a look at the John Jorgenson Band. He’ll be in town next weekend as a part of the Northshore Point Concert Series. Also, music from Ronnie Bowman and his solo release from 2002 entitled “Starting Over.” Bowman had just left the Lonesome River Band and had moved to Nashville to try and carve out a new path in his career. This wasn’t his first solo album, but it has been considered one of his finest. He lad backing from long-standing Bluegrass artists like dan Tyminiski, Jerry Douglas, and Ron Stewart. Also, music from Levin Helm and his Grammy award winning release “Dirt Farmer.” It was his first release in 25 years.
