Out of the Box Album of the Week--Sleater-Kinney

Album of the Week Sleater-Kinney Little Rope

"Little Rope" by Sleater-Kinney is a captivating part of the band’s second act, it’s their fourth album since coming out of retirement.  Clocking in at just over 30 minutes, it’s a powerful expression of what living in a world of perpetual crisis has done to us.

Corin Tucker's vocals are as fierce as ever, and Carrie Brownstein's guitar work is nothing short of mesmerizing especially considering she learned of her parents death in a car crash shortly before recording the album.

Themes of how we navigate grief, who we navigate it with, and the ways it transforms us are emotional highlights.

In a testament to their enduring talent, Sleater-Kinney's signature raw energy and introspective lyricism shine. "Little Rope" may be a shorter album, but it’s not short on the cathartic feelings it generates.
