City Council accepted Andrew Trivette’s resignation in a quickly scheduled special meeting on Wednesday

Williamsburg’s city manager stepped down on Wednesday.

Andrew Trivette was with the city for 10 years, including 7 ½ as chief administrator.

City Council accepted his resignation in a special meeting on Wednesday. In a statement, communications staff said the resignation is a personnel matter and couldn't provide more details.

Mayor Doug Pons did not immediately respond for comment.

Deputy City Manager Michele DeWitt will serve as interim city manager. DeWitt has been with Williamsburg for more than 20 years. She was the city’s first economic development director, starting in 2005. She became assistant city manager in 2021 and Trivette’s deputy in December.
