The Jewish Museum & Cultural Center in Portsmouth begins its Zelma G. Rivin Wonderful Wednesdays Summer Music series on July 30.
The lineup includes jazz, Klezmer and sounds from the Classical period:
July 30 - Francesca Hurst, solo pianist. The program “Reflections” features traditional classical, Japanese haiku, nocturnes and jazz.
August 6 - Trio Niche, violin, cello and fortepiano. The program is “The Music of Jefferson’s White House.” The baroque musicians bring a historical sensibility to music from the early 1800s.
August 13 - Jae Sinnett Trio. Sinnett with Weldon Hill on piano and Terry Burrel on bass perform original compositions
August 20 - Bagels & Fraylox. The Klezmer band plays rousing, high-energy music with Eastern European roots.
