If you’re looking for the latest classical music releases, tune in this Saturday evening at 8:00 on WHRO-FM for three hours of new classical releases brought in by host Raymond Jones in “This Just In.”
This week, we open with the Royal Philharmonic and the Beecham Choral Society performing Franz Liszt’s transcendent “A Faust Symphony” after Dante’s “Inferno,” conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham. Then, pianist Christopher O’Riley returns with more of Book 2 of Bach’s masterful “The Well-Tempered Klavier.” Next, join us in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the British early music ensemble I Fagioline with the 16th century motet “Behold the Blessed Light” by Alessandro Strigio. We conclude the three-hour program on a melancholic and evocative note with pianist Kimberly Davenport performing John Verrall’s “Autumn Sketches.”
This Saturday evening at 8:00, tune in to “This Just In” on WHRO-FM for a journey from transcendence to reflection, in an evening of full of spiritual aspiration. You can also listen online through our Media Player or your preferred device.
