BONJOUR, WORLD! FRANCE 24, maintenant sur WHRO PLUS

WHRO Public Media is excited to announce that France 24 is now part of its lineup of television channels. France 24 is an international television news network that broadcasts in French, English, Arabic and Spanish.

France 24 broadcasts to 521.7 million homes across five continents and attracts 101.7 million viewers every week. It offers a French approach to the world and relies on 200 correspondent networks to cover almost every country in the world. The global all-news channel in 4 languages is diffused by cable, satellite, DTT in some countries and ADSL. It is also available live and free of charge, in all its languages, on its website, app, and on YouTube.

"Each day is made up of a succession of major news and programme slots, starting and finishing at the same time throughout the week, each of which is embodied by the same person and the same face. Every slot features its own signature international news angle, produced by the same dedicated team," Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Marie-Christine Saragosse wrote in press materials about the channel.

This addition brings WHRO's channel count to seven, with France 24 joining WHRO TV 15, WHRO World, WHRO Create, WHRO Kids, FNX - First Nations Experience and NHK - World Japan.

“We’re thrilled to bring France 24 to audiences across our region, offering a global perspective on the news and events shaping our world," said WHRO Chief Content Officer Heather Mazzoni. "Making this trusted international news service available free through WHRO+, WHRO.org, and the PBS App is another way WHRO Public Media is expanding access to high-quality journalism and giving our community more ways to stay informed.”

"Every day, our programmes and exclusive reports dissect 3 or 4 major international news from different angles, with reports from our 200 correspondent networks around the world and our 540 journalists of 40 different nationalities," Director of France 24 Vanessa Burggraf wrote in press materials. "Such a commitment allows us to always stay as close as possible to the events."

She said the programs will also include a mix of "lighter" content featuring film, theatre, music and sports.
