WHRO is thrilled to announce the addition of Dreamers and Doers: Stories of American Figures, a new second-grade History and Social Science animated video series, to eMediaVA. The series helps teachers address History and Social Science SOL 2.10 by exploring the contributions and roles of changemakers in United States history.
This collection brings history to life through the stories of Americans whose ideas, achievements, and actions helped shape our nation. Students will meet presidents, inventors, scientists, explorers, reformers, and other notable figures while discovering how individuals can make a difference in their communities and country.
Each short, engaging animated video introduces students to a historical figure’s life, accomplishments, challenges, and contributions in an age-appropriate and accessible way. The collection also includes learning experience plans and supporting instructional materials that help teachers deepen understanding, encourage discussion, and extend learning in the classroom.
