Orville Peck and Molly Tuttle on The Best of Pickin

pickin 1200

This week's Best of Pickin features music from Orville Peck and Molly Tuttle and a tune they performed on the 2024 release "Stampede." It was Peck's third studio album. Also, new music from Country artist Riley Green, as well as music from Mon Rovia, who is set to perform in Virginia Beach with Farm Aid on September 26th. Also, music from the Colorado based "Trout Street Revival" Band. Traditional Bluegrass artists Audie Blaylock, Longview, Joe Mullins, and Del McCoury also are featured. It's the last weekend for the summer of 2026 so tune in and enjoy some great Americana Music as the sun sets on another season of fun, on The Best of Pickin. Friday night at 10 on WHRV.

Barry Graham used to arrive at WHRO with a briefcase full of papers and lesson plans. For 32 years he taught US and Virginia Government in the Virginia Beach Public Schools. While teaching was always his first love, radio was a close second. While attending Old Dominion, Barry was program director at WODU, the college radio station. After graduating, he came to WHRO as an overnight announcer. Originally intending to stay on only while completing graduate school, he was soon hooked on Public Radio and today is the senior announcer on WHRV. In 2001, Barry earned his Ph.D in Urban Studies by writing a history of WHRO and analyzing its impact upon local education, policy and cultural arts organizations.
