Tune in this Sunday at 2:00 pm on WHRO-FM for “Feminine Fusion,” your weekly radio program celebrating the influence of women in classical music. Host Diane Jones explores the women who create, perform, and inspire throughout history and into the present day.

This week, enjoy one hour of an audio Patchwork Quilt, beginning with Jennifer Higdon’s vivid and impressionistic “Color Trio,” expressing colors through music and revealing her fascination with the relationship between visual art and sound. From there, we explore a deeply personal musical portrait of struggle, resilience and hope with composer Autumn Maria Reed’s surprisingly tender “Mental Health Suite.”  Then, we hear an outstanding performance from guitarist Laura Lootens, and a classical saxophone performance with “Strange Lights” by composer Henriette Steinke and saxophonist Susan Fancher.”
Join Diane Jones this Sunday afternoon at 2:00 on WHRO-FM for “Feminine Fusion,” an hour of great music composed or performed by talented women who transform personal experience and cultural perspective into sound. You can also listen online through our Media Player or your preferred device.
