Bluegrass royalty Jim and Jesse McReynolds are featured on Sunday's Pickin on WHRV. The Virginians were naturals in Americana music after their grandfather recorded at the famed 1927 Bristol sessions that practically launched the genre. In 1952, Jim & Jesse were signed to Capitol Records. They would also record for Columbia, Epic, and their own "Old Dominion " label. Their hits include, "The Flame of Love", "Cotton Mill Man", "Diesel on My Tail", "Are You Missing Me", and "Paradise". They became members of the Grand Ole Opry in 1964. After Jim's death in 2002, Jesse McReynolds continued to perform solo. Watchers of the CMT network show Nashville might remember Jesse performing on it in 2017 as a blind singer.
