When Suffolk's new downtown library opened last month, staff also revealed an updated WHRO Library Corner. Morgan Memorial Library opened on June 27 in a brand-new building, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city leaders.
WHRO Public Media has partnered with several libraries to establish WHRO Library Corners throughout Hampton Roads. Each Library Corner is equipped with a PBS Kids Playtime Pad loaded with learning apps, and a bookshelf that will be stocked regularly with books for children to enjoy. Each Library corner also has assorted bookmarks, fun books, and stickers. This dedicated reading area for children and families provides valuable learning resources for parents.
"I was pleased to see our library corner set up so nicely in its new home," said WHRO Manager of Early Childhood Learning Martha Razor, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
