Tune in to WHRO-FM 90.3 each Saturday at 8 p.m. for “This Just In,” the show that keeps you up to date with recently released classical recordings.
This week, we feature the Violin Concerto by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor with soloist Gil Shaham and the Virginia Symphony led by Eric Jacobsen, from a brand-new release on the Canary Classics label. Learn more about this piece with Wayla Chambo, who will be speaking with Maestro Jacobsen and violin virtuoso Gil Shaham about the album and their work together.

Next, we’ll have Sir Thomas Beecham conducting “Brigg Fair” by English composer Frederick Delius, followed by the Concert for violin, piano and string quartet by Ernest Chausson. Then, the Czech Philharmonic performs the Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler, led by Semyon Bychkov.
Enjoy three hours of new and exciting classical music releases! Listen to “This Just In" Saturday evening at 8:00 on WHRO-FM 90.3 or listen online for a night full of powerful and emotional performances.
