'Ms. Martha Reads' Visits The Children's Museum of Virginia

Families enjoyed hearing Ms. Martha read a story and picking up PBS Kids swag this week during the Spring Break Boredom Busters event at the Children's Museum of Virginia.

Ms. Martha read "The Donkey Who Lost His Memory," and led children in a discussion and song about farm animals.

About Ms. Martha Reads
Each week on Facebook, Ms. Martha reads a new story aloud and shows the accompanying illustrations. Rather than reading the books that children may already know, or could possibly find on their shelves at home, Ms. Martha reads stories that have been submitted to the WHRO annual PBS Kids Writers Contest. These short tales are stories written and illustrated by children in grades K-5th.

As Ms. Martha Reads has evolved, the writers contest winners themselves often read their own stories now on Ms. Martha Reads. It has become another way to celebrate these young, talented writers.

Watch Ms. Martha Reads every Friday at 10 a.m. on the WHRO Facebook page, and catch up on missed episodes online.
