A Fond Farewell to Classical Host Jana Lee Ross

After two years as our host for Midday Classics, Jana Lee Ross will be leaving WHRO at the end of this month. Her last day on air will be Friday, March 27, for Midday Classics, and Saturday, March 28, for Intermezzo.

She has been a wonderful part of our classical team and will be missed by staff and listeners alike; we wish her all the best!

In addition to her broadcasting work, Jana Lee Ross has a thriving performance career. She is in demand as a pianist and vocalist, incorporating Bach, BeBop, Bill Evans, and David Bowie.

While she says she has had a great experience at WHRO, she is also looking forward to spending more time with her loved ones and playing her piano.

She will also continue to host and produce En Voyage, Fridays at noon!

"Jana’s deep musical knowledge and warm on-air personality have added so much to our station, and I’m grateful for everything she’s brought to WHRO during her time here!" said Wayla Chambo, program director of Classical WHRO FM. "I’m sorry to see her go, but very glad we will still be able to join her for musical travels each week during En Voyage."

Anthony McSpadden will fill in for Midday Classics while a national search for a new host is underway.
