The Great Computer Challenge kicks off in March! Students in K-12 have the opportunity to test their knowledge of technology in this annual competition.
The Great Computer Challenge is a joint project of WHRO, the Consortium for Interactive Instruction and Old Dominion University. Each year, teams of students compete to demonstrate their knowledge of various computer applications and programming skills while fostering teamwork and experiencing a college environment.
Registration Deadlines:
Senior Competition (Grades 6-12) - January 23, 2026
Junior Competition (Grades K-5) - March 13, 2026
The senior competition for grades 6-12 happens March 14, and the junior competition for grades K-5 takes place on May 2. Both competitions are held at Old Dominion University and provide teams of students opportunities to demonstrate their skills in categories like desktop publishing, coding, cybersecurity, graphic design, music composition and more.
