Successful Innovations has named finalists for the 2025 Constantino Family Engagement Practitioner Award, which includes two local educators. Successful Innovations is an on-demand platform that partners with schools to offer streamed content that helps parents take a more active role in their child's education. Each year, the organization sponsors the National Family Engagement Summit, a conference where educators and family engagement specialists come together to share engagement ideas and best practices.
Both this year’s summit and the group of award finalists include local educators. Katherine Gillespie, former family engagement specialist at Newport News Public Schools, recently started a new job with WHRO Public Media as community relations coordinator in the Williamsburg office.
Dr. Admon Alexander, director of family engagement for Virginia Beach Public Schools is also a nominee for the award.
Additionally, Dr. Kelli Cedo, senior director of early learning and Title I at Norfolk Public Schools is serving as a presenter during the breakout sessions.
The summit kicks off today in Richmond and runs through Friday.
