Tune in late night Friday for a slew of new Americana releases. The legendary Larry Sparks who early in his career was a Bluegrass Boy in Bill Monroe's band has a new album out entitled " Way Back When." Also, new releases out from the North Carolina based Burnett Sisters Band, Tidalwave Road Band, and Becky Buller. Buller is a multi- instrumentalist whose songs have been covered by The Infamous Stringdusters (The lead- off track from their Grammy Award winning Gravity release), The Travelin' McCourys, Molly Tuttle, Ricky Skaggs, and Doyle Lawson. She is the recipient of 10 IBMA awards and this release has really put her on the radar. Also, music from The Avett Brothers, Sam Bush, The Colored Edge of Memory, and the Virginia based Hackensaw Boys. It's a two-hour blast of great Traditional and Progressive Bluegrass. Kick off your weekend with THE BEST OF PICKIN, Friday night at 10 on WHRV.
