The annual Virginia Children's Festival returned to Norfolk's Town Point Park this weekend. WHRO Public Media's education staff enjoyed seeing hundreds of parents and children at their tent.
This exciting family festival is filled with more than 100 fun, creative and interactive activities that include storytelling, hands-on workshops, educational displays, cultural experiences, arts and crafts, military demonstrations, costumed characters and more.
At the WHRO booth, visitors enjoyed playing games to win prizes, exploring WHRO’s great kids' programming and services, choosing an age-appropriate book, coloring a giant mural, voting for their favorite PBS Kids character, and meeting Super Why.
This year, popular PBS Kids musician, Mr. Steve, joined us and performed twice on the WHRO Public Media's Lights, Camera, Action Stage.
This event is a favorite of the staff every year, and this year did not disappoint! Thank you to everyone who came out!
