Verdi’s “Rigoletto” from LA, this Saturday, on WHRO-FM

This Saturday, September 27, at 1 p.m., WHRO-FM presents Giuseppe Verdi’s dramatic masterpiece ‘Rigoletto” in a thrilling performance from LA Opera in Los Angeles. This iconic opera tells the gripping story of the hunchbacked court jester, Rigoletto, whose love for his daughter, Gilda, collides tragically with the seductive Duke of Mantua.

Baritone Quinn Kelsey stars in the title role and soprano Lisette Oropesa appears as his devoted daughter, with tenor René Barbera as the charming yet treacherous Duke of Mantua. The cast also includes Blake Denson, Peixin Chen, Sarah Saturnino, Hyungjin Son, Nathan Bowles, Vinícius Costa, Madeleine Lyon, and Gabrielle Turgeon in supporting roles.
