Join WHRO-FM in celebrating Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month at your own rhythm! From now until October 15th, you will find 17 hours of music available on our website for you to explore, enjoy, and savor the rich diversity of Hispanic and Latino musical traditions.

Listeners will discover a vibrant range of sounds, from Brazilian composers like Clarice Assad, Ricardo Herz, and Chiquinha Gonzaga, to Cuban classics such as “Guantanamera” by Joselito Fernández, alongside works by Leo Brouwer, and Pulitzer Prize winner Tania León.
From Mexico, this compilation features the colorful music of Silvestre Revueltas and Gabriela Ortiz. Argentina brings the passion of Astor Piazzolla, the lyrical beauty of Carlos Gustavino, and guitar works by María Luisa Anido.
The journey continues with Javier Farías’ “Andean Suite: Diablada” from Chile, Evencio Castellanos’ “Santa Cruz de Pacairigua” from Venezuela, and “Memory of the Andes” by Bolivian composer Modesta Sanginés. And from Peru, we celebrate the timeless songs of Chabuca Granda.
