This Saturday at 1:00 p.m., WHRO-FM 90.3 invites you to continue your summer opera journey with Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut,” the third version of Manon’s story we’ve explored this season as part of our ongoing WFMT Opera Series.
In Puccini’s lush and dramatic setting, soprano Erika Grimaldi takes on the role of Manon, portraying her journey from youthful passion to tragic downfall. Tenor Roberto Aronica sings the role of des Grieux, the man who loves her deeply, with Alessandro Luongo as Lescaut, Carlo Lepore as Geronte, and Giuseppe Infantino as Edmondo. Renato Palumbo leads the Teatro Regio Chorus and Orchestra, bringing Puccini’s sweeping score to life with its unforgettable arias and rich orchestration.
Don’t miss the chance to experience Puccini’s passionate “Manon Lescaut” this Saturday, July 26, at 1 p.m., on WHRO-FM 90.3, or listen online via our Media Player. Stay tuned each Saturday as the WFMT Opera Series continues to bring you the world’s great operas all year long.
