On this week’s Pickin' on WHRV, a tribute to the late Roland White. White recorded early in his career with brothers Eric and Clarence and also with legendary Bluegrass pioneers like Lester Flatt and Bill Monroe. An accomplished mandolinist, he helped solidify the progressive sound of bluegrass music as a member of the West Coast group Country Gazette and later as a member of the Nashville Bluegrass Band. Along the way, he earned two Grammy awards and was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame. White is considered one of the most influential of the second-generation stars. We’ll look back on his remarkable career. Pickin' airs Sunday night at 7 on WHRV.
