'Acoustic Highway' Features Robbie Robertson & Randy Meisner

Acoustic Highway 1200x675

On this week’s Acoustic Highway, we remember two trailblazing artists who sadly, we lost this summer: Robbie Robertson and Randy Meisner. Robertson was a founding member of The Band, who backed Bob Dylan for years before splitting up in the mid-70s.  The Band’s final concert in 1976 was filmed and has been hailed as one of the greatest rock concert films ever. Robertson would go on to a storied solo career, releasing countless recordings and working on soundtracks, including for the film Raging Bull.  Robertson died on August 9 th.  Randy Meisner was an original member of The Eagles from 1971 until leaving in 1977. Meisner sang the lead on the hit “Take It to the Limit.” He also worked with Poco and with Richie Furay. Meisner passed away on July 26 th.  Tune in for the music of these two legendary artists, on the Highway.

Sunday night at 9 on WHRV 89.5 FM. We hope you’ll tune in.
