Gravy in a jar? Canned cranberry sauce or pies made with canned pumpkin? When is it okay to use a shortcut as you cook your Thanksgiving meal, and when should you roll up your sleeves and put in the extra work? America's Test Kitchen put some common shortcuts to the test.
Shortcuts that are test kitchen approved include frozen dinner rolls, frozen peas, canned pumpkin and ready-made pie crusts -- but even in these approved shortcuts, some brands are clear winners above the rest.
