From 8 to 10 p.m. you'll hear nothing but the blues including every style from traditional to contemporary, electric to acoustic, from the barrelhouse to the Delta, jump, swing and boogie-woogie, country to urban, be-bop and rockin' blues--all brought to you by host Paul Shugrue.
10:00 p.m. - Lost in The Shuffle with Jeff Sandner
"Wow! I haven't heard that song in ages!" Rediscover forgotten songs from the 1970s to the 1990s that didn't get the attention they deserve along with the sounds, news, fads, and moments from some of the world's most beloved decades.
11:00 p.m. - The Best of Pickin' with Barry Graham
On this week’s Best of Pickin', we’ll hear music from Billy Strings, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, the Dead South, Town Mountain, Jim Lauderdale, and plenty of others. Lauderdale began working extensively in the 1990s with many notables in the Americana Music community including Ralph Stanley, Donna the Buffalo, Buddy Miller, and Emmy Lou Harris. His collaboration with Stanley entitled Lost in the Lonesome Pines won the 2003 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album. His Bluegrass Diaries album also won a Grammy in 2008. Tune in for the Best of Pickin' traditional and progressive Bluegrass, Friday night at 11 on WHRV.

Host Jack Frieden highlights both jazz vocal music's post-1950s history, as well as the new singers and songs that will continue to play an increasingly prominent role in the music's future.

Known as the home of space-age pop and incredibly strange music.
11:00 p.m. - Juke in the Back
Matt The Cat presents the soul that came before rock n' roll: 1950s rhythm and blues.
Sunday
7:00 p.m. - Pickin' - This Week: Classic Country
It’s time for another edition of classic country on Sunday night’s Pickin'. The golden age of country music yielded dozens of great artists like Porter Waggoner, Kitty Wells, David Houston, and plenty of others including a set from the duo Johnny and Jack. Johnny Wright and Jack Anglin were early members of the Grand Ole Opry and had great success as a performing duo in the 1950s. Johnny Wright was the husband of the queen of country music Kitty Wells. Jack Anglin died in a traffic accident in 1963 while on his way to the funeral for Patsy Cline. Johnny Wright would continue performing a solo act and had numerous charting singles through the 1960s including the huge 1965 hit “Hello Vietnam.” Go back to the golden age of country music on Pickin'. Sunday night at 7 on 89.5.
9:00 p.m. - Acoustic Highway with Barry Graham - This week: All About Travel
On this week’s Acoustic Highway, we’ll feature songs all about the road and traveling. We’ll hear music from Tom Kimmel, America, Son Volt, Catie Curtis, and Gordon Lightfoot. Lightfoot’s “Carefree Highway’ was released in 1974 when the Canadian artist's career was beginning to peak. He had a number-one album behind the hit “Sundown” and one year later released his hit ”Rainy Day People.” Lightfoot said the song was a metaphor for trying to escape the memory of a lost love affair. The song was also included on his 1988 release Gord’s Gold. Tune in for a trip down the highway with songs all about… a highway.. Sunday night at 9 on WHRV.
