WHRO's Community Advisory Board is currently accepting applications for new members.
Public media has a long-standing commitment to being responsive to the interests of people both in particular localities and throughout the United States. To help ensure that we never lose touch with the people we serve, every public media station is required by law to have a community advisory board. WHRO’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) meets quarterly to share input and ideas on programming priorities and community services. This feedback is important as we strive to serve our community and respond to local issues. Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe these meetings. All meetings are held at 6:00 PM at WHRO's Norfolk Offices at 5200 Hampton Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23508.
Members of the Community Advisory Board are required to actively participate in CAB meetings, attend WHRO events, serve on CAB committees, and serve as ambassadors to support community awareness of WHRO Public Media's work in the community.
Application deadline is May 31, 2024.
Applicants will be notified of the status of the application by June 14.
