A homemade coffee liquor like Kahlua makes an excellent holiday gift or party beverage. What's more, yours will probably taste better than the real thing; after all, the best bartenders make their own ingredients, so why not follow suit?
Ingredients
- 1 quart of water
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons instant coffee
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups vodka
Directions
- Boil water, coffee and sugar. Just as it boils, turn down heat to medium low and simmer for tow hours (stirring occasionally)
- After two hours, you should have a syrup that coats the back of the spoon
- Let cool and add vanilla and vodka
