For Dogs
Cheese Bones
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¼ cups shredded cheese (your choice)
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water (more or less)
Preheat the oven to 400. Combine the flour, cheese, garlic and oil. Add water if necessary to form a stiff dough and knead well. Roll it out on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick and cut it into shapes. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly browned. Makes about 3 dozen.
Healthy Whole Wheat Dog Delights

1/4 cup regular wheat germ
1/2 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
6 tbsp. corn oil margarine
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. molasses
1/2 cup ice water
Preheat the oven to 375. Combine the dry ingredients. Cut in the margarine until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Stir in the egg and molasses, and add enough ice water so that the mixture forms a ball. Roll the dough out on a floured board to a thickness of 1/4 inch, and cut it into shapes with a (bone-shaped) cookie cutter. Place them on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Makes about 60.
