Knowledge is the best medicine. Our advice on House Calls is based on short conversation and no physical examination-not the way medicine should be practiced. We encourage you to read more about our topics by going to the library or on the Internet, then make an appointment and really talk with your doctor.

HOUSE CALLS FAVORITE: QUIT IT!
You've tried to do it before, maybe several times and it just seems impossible to quit forever. Smoking is so easy to start and so difficult to stop. On this edition of House Calls, we'll speak with Billy Martin, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at VCU and with Alica Forehand, a smoking cessation educator formerly with the Hampton Health Department. They can answer your questions about why you can't stop smoking and give you some advice on how to successfully quit.
