Knowledge is the best medicine. Our advice on House Calls is based on short conversation and no physical examination-not the way medicine should be practiced. We encourage you to read more about our topics by going to the library or on the Internet, then make an appointment and really talk with your doctor.

GOT MILK?
Breast milk contains just the right mix of fats, vitamins, hormones, proteins, enzymes, and antibodies to nourish a newborn and protect against a wide range of infections and diseases. Yet only 36 percent of mothers are still nursing at the six-month mark and fewer make it past the recommended one year. Today on House Calls, we're talking about breast-feeding - the benefits, the challenges, the options. Joining us to take your questions is lactation consultant Kitty Katz, RN, with the Children's Hospital King's Daughters and Angela Burton, Associate Area Professional Liaison for La Leche League Virginia/West Virginia.
