Stem cell research and reproductive ethics have been in the headlines frequently of late. Cathy will be joined in the studio by Gerald J. Pepe, Ph.D., Dean and Provost of Eastern Virginia Medical School and Yvette E. Pearson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Old Dominion University to discuss medical ethics today on HearSay.

Dropout Prevention

The America's Promise Alliance is supporting more than 100 state and local Dropout Prevention Summits across the country and one will be taking place in Norfolk on Saturday, April 4th in Norfolk. It's being convened by the Hampton Roads Children of the Sun Athletic/Education Foundation (HRCOTS) and today we'll talk to community leaders from Norfolk and Hampton to discuss what is being done to help prevent dropouts throughout Hampton Roads. Guests: Mamie Johnson, Executive Vice-President of HRCOTS, Katie Felder, Executive Director of Communities in Schools for the City of Hampton, Judge Jerrauld C. Jones, of Norfolk's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and Michael Spar, a demographer with the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.

The African American Experience at Colonial Williamsburg

In 2009 Colonial Williamsburg marks three decades of telling the story of Williamsburg’s African American community during the 18th century, when half of the population of Williamsburg was African American. Cathy is joined in the studio by Harvey Bakari, manager of the African American History Interpretation Department and interpreters Edwin Cooke and Hope Smith.
