One area that has seen a recent boom in green innovations and focus on sustainability is the building industry. We'll talk about 'green' building today on HearSay. Guests: Stuart Rose of Green Atriums, Richard Good of Solar Services and Skip Stiles of Wetlands Watch, who is working on a green renovation of his home.

Building Self-Esteem in Youths

A lack of self-confidence can lead children and teens to trouble. A lack of, or low, self-esteem is often cited as a contributing cause for eating disorders, self-mutilation, dating violence, depression and suicide among teens and tweens. The pressures society exerts on teens, girls in particular, often don't help. Today we'll talk with experts who are helping youths bolster their self-esteem. Guests: Dr. Linda Mintle, a licensed therapist, Dr. Stephen Hinshaw, author of The Triple Bind: Saving Our Teenage Girls from Today's Pressures and Alex Ellis, founder of the Tied to Greatness program.

Food Friday - Craft Brews

Growth of the craft brewing business has exploded in the United States over the past three decades. Even still, the Nation's top independent brewery, and the largest American owned brewery, the Boston Beer Company (which produces Sam Adams) accounts for less than 1 percent of beer sales in the US. On the heels of the release of the independent film Beer Wars we'll talk about the popularity of craft beers and microbrews and preview this weekend's 8th Annual Virginia Beer Festival. Patrick Evans-Hylton joins us from HR Magazine to talk craft brews on this edition of 'Food Friday'. Guests: Jim Koch, founder of Sam Adams and the Boston Beer Company and Andrew Rathmann, brew master at St. George's Brewery in Hampton, VA.
