In Search of Self

We all have a sense of self that is the sum of our experiences and history. But what do you do when your sense of self is shaken? Writer, actress, filmmaker, and comedian Angela Shelton’s directorial debut changed her life forever. She went in search of women across America who were also named Angela Shelton and discovered that 70% of the women she interviewed had been victims of child sexual abuse, rape, and/or domestic violence. Through her film, Searching for Angela Shelton, and upcoming book, Finding Angela Shelton, she aims to help people find happiness in their lives after enduring through periods of abuse and pain. We’ll also talk with author A.M. Homes, well known for her fictional work, she found her world turned upside down when contacted by her birth mother. Military Chaplains

Tracing their roots to the Roman military, chaplains have a long history of ministering to the faith of armed forces. Currently there are over 3,800 military chaplains serving in the US Armed Forces and the Army recognizes 120 different faith organizations as sponsors of chaplains. Many have evangelical roots and some represent faiths that only a small portion of service personnel are affiliated with. We’ll talk about the changes in military chaplaincy over time and the special challenges and trials that these men and women of faith face on and off the battlefield.
