WHRO LAUNCHES WEBSITE TO SEEK INPUT ON CEO SEARCH
Public Broadcaster Invites Community to Weigh In on its Next Chief Executive

Norfolk:  WHRO, the public broadcasting company that serves Hampton Roads with WHRO TV15, WHRV 89.5FM and WHRO 90.3FM and a multitude of educational and technological services, is inviting members of the Hampton Roads community to weigh in on attributes they think the next Chief Executive Officer should possess.  An innovative website has been established that contains a leadership statement setting forth a brief position description, the composition of the official Search Committee, a time table, and a questionnaire that asks for ranking of various aspects of leadership.  In addition, a space is provided for comments.  The website URL is www.whro.org/presidentialsearch.
A dedicated post office box has been established to receive mail from individuals who do not have access to a computer, or who do not wish to participate by email.

All communications are strictly confidential and will be shared only with members of the Search Committee.

WHRO will accept applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer through January 31, 2007.  The position became vacant with the resignation of Joseph Widoff, who held the post from July 1, 2001 through August 31, 2006.  He succeeded John R. Morison, who retired as President and General Manager of WHRO in 2001 after twenty-six years.

“This website and post office box give us an opportunity to hear from everyone in Hampton Roads, all of whom are stakeholders in the enterprise,” said Henry Light, Governing Board Chair and Co-Chair of the Search Committee.  “WHRO is one of the true regional success stories in Hampton Roads,” added Jack Ezzell, Search Committee Co-Chair, “with diverse products and services that go far beyond radio and television programming.  We’re looking for a dynamic leader to take the organization to the next level.”
