Will produce WHRV's award winning HearSay with Cathy Lewis

Norfolk, VA: Public broadcaster WHRO has named Susan DeShazo Producer of the long-running HearSay with Cathy Lewis. DeShazo joined the HearSay team in August 2010, following eight years at ABC affiliate WAVY-TV10 in Portsmouth.

DeShazo, a life-long Norfolk resident, is a graduate of Norview High School and Old Dominion University (Communications, ’02).  After interning at NBC affiliate WAVY-TV10, she was hired in 2003, and produced WAVY News 10 Midday from 2006 to 2010.  She produced special programming for WAVY, including 10 On Your Side: Hurricane Ready, 2007, 2008; Freedom at Work: Aboard the USS George H. W. Bush, 2009, which was a 2010 Virginia Association of Broadcasters award nominee.

“I’m proud to be a part of HearSay and the WHRV team,” DeShazo says, “I’ve been listening to HearSay for years, and I’m excited to be working with Cathy Lewis, Danny Epperson and Perry Smith to create the program.”
