Mission US
Barney & Friends

Grades 5-8
Interactive Online Game

Take young learners on a virtual adventure into American History with Mission US, a "revolutionary" multimedia project.

Mission US is a free, new interactive adventure game series designed to improve the understanding of American history by students in grades 5 through 8. The website includes a vast suite of classroom resources.

Mission 1: "For Crown or Colony?" helps players understand the social, political and economic conflicts that led to the American Revolution by having them step into the shoes of fictional Nat Wheeler, a young printer's apprentice in colonial Boston.

Major funding for Mission US is provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Additional funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
