The series prepares students for a smooth transition to algebra and geometry, and helps mathematics teachers meet the goals and standards presented in the National Council of Teachers Mathematics Curriculum and Evaluation Standards. It integrates practical application and enrichment activities into the curriculum and promotes student problem solving strategies and reasoning skills.
