Wouldn't it be great if you could get elementary school children to really understand their conflicts and be able to diffuse these conflicts on their own? Getting Along shows young people the options they have in dealing with conflict. Educators, psychologists, and health educators agree that negative, ant-social behavior patterns are set early in life. During these same years, positive conflict busting behaviors can be introduced. Getting Along helps students recognize behaviors that call for effective conflict resolution while teaching the students creative solutions to conflict. The series emphasizes destructive behavior as ineffective and stresses the "win-win" approach. (CC)
