Astronomy: Window to the Universe

Since the beginning of civilization, we have looked to the heavens and gazed in awe at the wonders of the universe. What is a star? A planet? A moon? Board our starship "Explorer" destined to reach the outer limits of space and find the answers to these questions and more! Examine different types of telescopes and discover why they are our windows to the universe. (Grades 3-5)

Bring on the Noise

Ready or not, we are bringing on the noise! So what is noise? Sound? Music? What is a medium for sound, and why do we need it? Find out as we explore the structure of sound as a form of energy and a means of communication. Experiment with sound waves and explore frequency, wavelength, and resonance. Use a sound wave to extinguish a candle! (Grades 3-5)
