Students handle and analyze clothing, bone tools, pottery, and other reproduction artifacts of the Powhatan Indian culture. They learn the ways the Powhatans effectively used their environment and the day-to-day jobs in and around a Powhatan village. Classes also receive materials to make their own rope.

From the tiny celery seed to the 40 pound coco-de-mer, most plants grow from seeds. Seeds are also used in making everything from toothpaste, to film and candy bars. Seeds of Change introduces students to seeds and allows them to examine different seeds, crack open a seed to reveal the tiny embryo and plant a seed to take home. (Grades 1-5)
